Fujian Seminar on China-Canada Economic and Trade Cooperation Concludes Successfully

Fujian Seminar on China-Canada Economic and Trade Cooperation was successfully held at Worldwide Plaza in Fuzhou on the afternoon of September 29, 2025. The event was co-hosted by Fuzhou Hollytech Informatics Co., Ltd. (Victwo), the Indigenous International Trade Group of Canada (IITGC), and the Chinese Entrepreneurs Association of Saskatchewan (CEAS). Mr. Edward Yang, CEO of Victwo, served as the host. The Seminar was honored by the presence and guidance of officials from China Overseas Development Association (CODA) under the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), specifically Ms. Zhang Hong, Deputy Secretary-General, Mr. Xiao Yanzhe from Business Department III, and Ms. Li Lijun, Supervisor.

Mr. Yang opened the session by outlining Victwo’s core mission: supporting enterprises in their overseas expansion. He detailed the scope of Victwo’s services, which cover the pre-entry preparations, market entry/localization, and post-entry support. He extended an invitation for enterprises to join hands in a collective "going global" effort, with an aim to invest and expand into prospective international markets through a strategic brand internationalization model. Following this, the floor was turned over to the keynote speaker, Mr. William Wang, Co-founder of IITGC and President of CEAS.

Mr. Wang has had a long and distinguished career with the governments of Saskatchewan and Alberta, where he was instrumental in fostering economic and trade investment partnerships between the two provinces and China. In recognition of his contributions, he has received numerous honors, including the Saskatchewan Premier’s Award for Excellence in the Public Service, the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal, recognition by the Canadian House of Commons for outstanding achievements, and the King Charles III Coronation Medal. After his public service, he co-founded IITGC with a former colleague. Leveraging the unique preferential policies extended by the Canadian government to Indigenous-owned businesses, Mr. Wang has successfully helped numerous Chinese companies secure tendering contracts with various Canadian government agencies. During the seminar, Mr. Wang expressed his desire to forge long-term partnerships with the participating Fujianese enterprises. His goal is to facilitate the expansion of relevant Fujian-based industries into the Canadian public procurement market and further develop agency distribution for high-tech products, notably in the new energy sector. Additionally, he aims to strengthen cooperation between Canadian and Fujian educational institutions.

The Q&A session that followed saw lively exchanges between participants and both Mr. Yang and Mr. Wang, resulting in the formation of several promising statements of cooperation intent.
